ROLEPLAYING IN VIRTUAL WORLDS

Roleplaying is a highly popular passtime in virtual worlds, and the ability to fully maximise the experience and the mechanics is a focus of many creators and developers. Additionally, there are a number of different roleplay formats used and scripted systems to handle magic use and weapons/fighting provide a 'realistic' facet to the experience.

And it is truly a lifestyle. You can fully immerse yourself into the character you've chosen to become. The chosen system allows you to play that character and to give others in the group the best possible means to further their own gameplay. You can truly be whoever and whatever you would like to be. You can also actively participate in many of the encounters, scenarios, stories and environments of your favourite worlds, such as Star Trek, Avatar, Lord of the Rings etc.

As roleplaying gains popularity across virtual worlds, so the creators of the accoutrements which build enhancement to the atmosphere, look and feel of the activity provide the necessaries. Clothing, hair, shoes, accessories, weapons and weapon systems, battle and fighting systems, magic and the systems that go with it are growth industries. As are avatar creation, specialised skins and gestures.
