Phaedran Project

SHARED HISTORY

Virtual worlds as a general rule are not very big and setting up roleplay groups dedicated to a single theme is not an entirely viable option with a small population.

With the Phaedran story, it is possible to conceive of a shared history to which various intended roleplay groups can subscribe, therefore expanding the options for any virtual world roleplaying fan.

The shared history develops integral links between the various groups, providing a rich mix of cultures and interactions which can be both group-region based and grid-wide at the same time.

A region can therefore been constructed as a meeting place for all roleplayed races and/or cultures. Somewhere for the different groups to interact while staying faithful to their particular roleplayed character backgrounds and norms. Including having to roleplay the racial and cultural interfaces.

In this way, the region is the diplomatic and trade centre for the grid-wide roleplay concept. Where Elven can meet and discuss life, trade, ideas etc with Thalani and/or Numae, while everyone ensures their interactions are in step with their racial diplomatic requirements for contact with other cultures.

A shared history allows for stories to be woven into yet another fabric, thereby accessing a richer weave.
